Our Mission
The mission of the Alpena Hockey Association (AHA) is to promote and encourage the development and continuation of youth hockey, build character, and foster good sportsmanship among youth and others associated with AHA.
We are an athlete-centered organization that places the needs of children first. AHA provides a safe, rewarding, and fair competitive environment that will positively impact the long-term development of participants as individuals, hockey players, and members of their communities. We allow each athlete to participate to the best of their ability and to develop as a hockey player.
Our Association
Alpena Hockey Association (AHA) is a Michigan non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, which enjoys an affiliation agreement with the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) and USA Hockey. AHA conducts all its programs at the Northern Lights Arena (NLA) in Alpena, Michigan. All teams are registered with MAHA and USA Hockey. In partnership with the parents, coaches, and NLA, we want to ensure that children are provided with a meaningful, enjoyable, challenging, and safe hockey experience.
